Legitimate Scientific Studies Ignored because they don’t Align with Global Warming

According to the ICECAP Blog, “A new scientific paper says that man has had little or nothing to do with global temperature variations. Maybe the only place it’s really getting hotter is in Al Gore’s head. Because he must be getting flustered now, what with his efforts to save the benighted world from global warming continually being exposed as a fraud. The true believers will not be moved by the peer-reviewed findings of Chris de Freitas, John McLean and Bob Carter, scientists at universities in Australia and New Zealand.”“Warming advocates have too much invested in perpetuating the myth. (And are probably having too much fun calling those who don’t agree with them “deniers” and likening skeptics to fascists.) But these scientists have made an important contribution to the debate that Gore says doesn’t exist. Their research, published in the Journal of Geophysical Research, indicates that nature, not man, has been the dominant force in climate change in the late 20th century.”

CO2 Not Linked to Global Warming

According to the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition, “A review of research literature concerning the environmental consequences of increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide leads to the conclusion that increases during the 20th and 21st centuries have produced no deleterious effects on Earth's weather or climate. Increased carbon dioxide has, however, markedly increased plant growth. Predictions of harmful climatic effects due to future increases in hydrocarbon use and minor greenhouse gases like CO2 do not conform to current experimental knowledge.”

Businesses Don’t Care About Going Green, They Care About Their Image

According to the Global Warming Heretic blog, “These days, countless businesses spare no effort reminding us how much they care about planet earth. Have these companies really become true believers in global warming, or is something else at play here? I suspect that in most cases, what we see in this July 14 Dilbert comic is a little closer to the truth.”

Are CFL Bulbs Better for the Environment and the Consumer?

Eric Anderson of the Climate Sanity blog conducted his own study to determine whether or not CFL bulbs are better for the environment and the consumer than incandescent bulbs. He concluded that: “There are hundreds of different configurations of CFLs and incadescent bulbs being used in the world. My sample is miniscule. However, some of my numerical results are probably fairly representative, and there are common observations reported by many users. . . . The 14 Watt CFL was about a bright as the 65 Watt incandescent it was designed to replace. However, the color quality of the CFL was much poorer. This poor color quality is a function or the flourescent nature of the lamp, and is likely common to most CFLs.”
“The CFL takes a long time to warm up, compared to the instant-on of an incandescent. The warmup time probably varies from one type of CFL to another. I have data to indicate that the irradiance vs. time for the warmup minutes can look quite different for a new CFL vs. and an identical CFL with several thousand hours, but that data is not presented here. . . . A CFL will save money compared to an incandescent that it is designed to replace. But as shown here, the color quality of the light is worse and there may be an annoying wait for it to warm up.”
“I will continue to use CFLs where they make sense, but I am also stockpiling some incandescents for the day when they are no longer available by government mandate. Short duration use of many CFLs reduces their lifetime, and as seen above, it may take several minutes for the CFL to get to full brightness. So I will use incandescents in closets and storage rooms, etc., and CFLs in the main living areas.”

UK Plan for Green Jobs is Nothing but Hot Air

“A press release from the government’s Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) announced two days previously: ‘UK at forefront of a low carbon economic revolution‘. By 2020, it said, ‘more than 1.2 million people will be in green jobs’.” According to the Climate-Resistance blog: “The UK government, it seems, pats itself and its cronies on the back for setting ‘ambitious’ targets, and promising hundreds of thousands of new jobs, while the reality is that over a quarter of a million people lost their jobs in the spring months. The 600 workers at the Vestas factory will be joining more than 2.8 million (and rising) unemployed people at the dole queue. Who does Mandelson think he’s kidding?”

Surface Temperature Readings Biased

Watts Up With That reports: “When I [Roger Pielke, Sr.] served on the committee that resulted in the CCSP (2006) report on reconciling the surface and tropospheric temperature trends, one of the issues I attempted to raise was a warm bias in the construction of long term surface temperature trends when near surface land minimum temperatures (and maximum temperatures when the atmospheric boundary layer remained stably stratified all day, such as in the high latitude winter) were used. This error will occur even for pristine observing sites. Tom Karl and his close associates suppressed this perspective as I document in: Pielke Sr., Roger A., 2005: Public Comment on CCSP Report “Temperature Trends in the Lower Atmosphere: Steps for Understanding and Reconciling Differences“.”

Natural Climate Processes

According to the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition, “A study by three Australasian researchers published 23 July in the highly regarded Journal of Geophysical Research shows that most of the late 20th century global warming and cooling can be attributed to natural climate processes. The research by Chris de Freitas (University of Auckland, New Zealand), John McLean (Melbourne) and Bob Carter (James Cook University, Australia) finds that the Southern Oscillation is a key indicator of global atmospheric temperatures seven months later.”

Billions Wasted on Fighting Global Warming

According to the Global Warming Hysteria Blog, “This "Climate Money" report from the Science and Public Policy Institute ought to be an eye-opener for the wasted billions so far spent fighting a non-existent enemy. But it has severe implications for Europe and the rest also.”
“Essentially, if you wanna [want to] pour billions of dollars into a financial Black Hole when there\'s not a scrap of evidnece [evidence] linking CO2 and temperature and for no discernible benefit whatsover [whatsoever] then global warming is your bag.”

Solar Towers - Best New Option

Solar Tower: The New Renewable Energy Source
Dr. Roy Spencer believes that solar towers are the best new option for renewable energy sources. “The design appeals to me because it harnesses the weather, albeit on a small scale. Specifically, it collects the daily production of warm air that forms near the ground, and funnels all of that warm air into a chimney where turbines are located to extract energy from the rising air. It’s a little like wind tower technology, but rather than just extracting energy from whatever horizontally-flowing wind happens to be passing by, the Solar Tower concentrates all of that warm air heated by the ground into the central tower, or chimney, where the air naturally rises. Even on a day with no wind, the solar tower will be generating electricity while conventional wind towers are sitting there motionless.”

False Conclusions on Faulty Research?

From An Honest Climate Debate: Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Reports Reach False Conclusions on Faulty Research
According to Dr. Tim Ball, “Two pieces of evidence dominated recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Reports. They were instrumental in convincing the that world global warming due to humans was a scientifically indisputable fact. One was the graph known as the “hockey stick” because it purported to show little temperature change for approximately 1000 years then a sudden rise in the 20th century. The second was a global temperature increase of 0.6°C (1°F) in over 100 years, a rate claimed to be beyond any ‘natural’ increase. The first is now fully discredited thanks primarily to the work of Steve McIntyre and Ross McKitrick. The second piece of evidence, the claim of temperature increase, continues to dominate and is presented in many places as the truth.”

The Oceans Are Rising Just Like the Sky is Falling

From Climate Change Fraud; “For years (decades?), climate alarmist scientists have been claiming that the oceans were rising with "unprecedented" speed due to human-caused global warming.” If this were true, then there would be evidence of it all over the world, but this is simply not the case. Oceans are rising, it is true, but at such minimal levels that sounding the “Oceans are Rising” alarm is actually quite ridiculous.
